Slamdance Film Festival Release
Trailer Park of Terror
Features 4 Songs Co-Written By 2008 Artist To Watch
MATT KING
(PARK CITY, Utah.) January 14, 2008—Four songs co-written by Montage Music recording artist, Matt King are featured in the new horror film, Trailer Park Of Terror, based on the popular Imperium Comics series of the same name. The world premiere of Trailer Park Of Terror will debut on January 21st at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, directed by award winning director, Steven Goldmann.
King, who is currently promoting his upcoming record release entitled RUBE, was recently chosen as “1 of the 10 Artists To Watch in 2008” by the NY Post, has songs that are performed onscreen by a character in the movie. King co-wrote and co-produced some of the tracks with score composer and music producer, Alan Brewer. In addition, Matt created a featured instrumental piece with Brewer.
The action in Trailer Park Of Terror opens with an instrumental version of “Waiting At The Bottom,” (King’s vocal version also appears later in the film) and closes with the colorful “Hell’s Kitchen.”
King will be in Park City January 19th-23rd to celebrate the premiere of Trailer Park Of Terror along with Director Steven Goldmann, Composer Alan Brewer, Producer Jonathan Bogner, and several cast members including the film’s star, Nichole Hiltz who plays Norma, the trailer park queen.
It is not the first time for King’s theatrical music debut. Recently, he had two songs in the WWII era motion picture American Pastime, distributed by Warner Bros and directed by Desmond Nakano.
Because of his unique sound and poignant, insightful lyrics, Matt King has developed a substantial following amongst film directors and music supervisors in Los Angeles and New York, who have been reaching out to him more and more about creating new music for their films. His upcoming release RUBE will be available in stores February 5th, 2008 via Montage Music Group. Each track on Rube tells its own miniature story, like the closed-door reality of suburban meth labs (“Hell’s Kitchen”), or an abused spouse’s life of regrets (“Cursing the Ohio”), or a man who works as a gravedigger in order to somehow feel connected to his deceased wife (“Graveyard Shift”). Of course there are also some pointed observations on small-town life, such as “Silvertone,” a tongue-in-cheek look at one local bigwig’s often murky morality.
Trailer Park Of Terror synopsis:
Based on the popular comic series from Imperium Comics, six troubled teens and their optimistic youth ministries pastor are returning from a character building retreat when their van is crippled during a raging storm and they find themselves hopelessly stranded in the middle of a remote southern legend: the Trucker’s Triangle. The desperate group seeks shelter in an abandoned, ramshackle trailer park where they soon meet Norma, an undead trailer trash tart possessed of a killer body and a fatal attitude. As the sun sets and Norma’s hapless guests settle in for a long, sleepless night, her ravenous brood of soulless, blood-crazed rednecks come out to play, and the teens and their minister find themselves trapped in a bizarre and horrifying backwoods underworld where the only possible means of escape is a trip through living hell.
