Anthony Martin Joins Montage Music Group As Head of A&R
Nashville, TN – In keeping with his trend, Allen Butler has announced the addition of another industry veteran to his team. Longtime Sony Music A&R executive, Anthony Martin, will be the Head of A&R at the Montage Music Group.
“I’ve known Anthony’s talent for quite some time now. His instincts about songs and artists will be a valuable asset to our company as we look forward to building our roster of artists and writers,” says Allen Butler, Head of Montage Music Group.
Martin first started his career in A&R as a road musician and background vocalist. In 1987 and1988 he toured with Nicolette Larson, The Girls Next Door and Judy Rodman. In 1988 he joined a music publishing community as a song plugger for Jimmy Darrel Music. He was then tapped to work for Mel Tillis Music in 1989 where he produced demos and continued to pitch songs. Producers Paul Worley and Ed Seay hired Martin in 1990 where his duties included production assisting, engineering, co-producing and singing background vocals. Martin joined Sony Music in 1997 as A&R Manager where he was instrumental in artist development. In 2004 Martin started his own production company.
Martin is a graduate of Belmont School of Music, with a BA degree in Commercial Music and a minor in Music Business. His RIAA credits include: Montgomery Gentry, Martina McBride, Pam Tillis, Patty Loveless, Mark Chestnutt, The Kinleys, Jack Ingram, Highway 101, Charlie Robison, Collin Raye, David Ball, Travis Tritt and Shania Twain.
